Great news for the planet! The LAPD now has a Tesla and an electric BMW

Apparently, the LAPD is going “green” and announced today that it will lease 160 pure battery electric vehicles and 128 plug-in hybrids that will — in the words of Mayor Eric Garcetti — make Los Angeles the “most sustainable city in America.”

But that’s not the whole story…

On top of the 288 boring “green” cars, the department is getting a couple of freebies to test out — a Tesla Model S P85D and a BMWi!
