Oops: Kansas St. Marching Band apologizes after fans mistake U.S.S. Enterprise for something NSFW [photos, video]

Now this is funny.

The Kansas State University Marching Band was forced to apologize for what some considered a NSFW halftime show during yesterday’s game vs. the South Dakota Coyotes.

In summary, the K-State band was attempting to show a space battle between the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek and an alien which was supposed to look like the “Jayhawk” mascot from K-State’s instate rival, the University of Kansas. Except the band formation ended up looking more like the Jayhawk performing a sex act on the Enterprise than a battle with the Enterprise. Check it out:

The band director issued this apology, along with a diagram of what the formation was supposed to look like:

And this is supposed to make it better?

Editor’s note: A typo in this post has been corrected. It’s the South Dakota “Coyotes,” not “Wildcats.”
