Baltimore Sun crime reporter Justin Fenton posted a rather amusing video of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake earlier this morning where she defends her leadership of the city during the Freddie Gray riots in April.
According to the mayor, you see, she did a really good job because the riots only occurred for “few hours on one day” and other cities “would love to have that record.”
Is she delusional? Watch for yourself:

Selective memory at play, because we remember the unrest lasting for days:

.@justin_fenton "A few hours"? Along with being crazy, MayorSRB is also wrong. Riots began at 4:44pm on 4/27. When would you say over?

A few hours of rioting
How many protester arrests & released w/o charges btwn 4/27 – 5/2
…then there was #LarryLomax @justin_fenton

@justin_fenton MayorSRB #BMore is tired of hearing SRB'S denial and defensive whinning. #SuckItUpLikeARealMayor!

And if the riot wasn’t any big deal, why the week-long curfew? A. F. James MacArthur of the Baltimore Spectator tweets:
And if now admitting things were under control in a few hours, how does this justify a week long curfew??? @justin_fenton

Instituting a CITYWIDE, weeklong curfew in response to a few hours of highly isolated, localized commotion? @maxharlanwhite @justin_fenton
— MacArthur For Baltimore (@BaltoSpectator) July 19, 2015
Yet in her rhetoric she's continually referred to "the riots" as if it were some prolonged event @justin_fenton
