Billionaire Elon Musk suffered a major setback this afternoon after Delaware Court of Chancery Chancellor Kathaleen S. McCormick ruled that the trial over his purchase of Twitter will take place in October, much sooner than Musk had wanted:

Twitter’s lawyers accused Musk of trying to “sabotage” the deal and that he “invented” the “bot issue” to “manufacture an exit ramp that doesn’t exist”:

Musk’s lawyers had argued the “schedule is completely unjustifiable”:

Ouch. “Mr. Musk has made perfect clear he has no intention of keeping any of his promises”:

It’s expected to be only a 5-day trial:

Musk had wanted to delay the trial until February 13, 2023:

But, too be quite honest, Musk doesn’t look to be sweating it very much. . .
