So, the GOP went after “Irishman” Beto O’Rourke today for St. Patrick’s day and posted this old mugshot from his DUI along with a Photoshopped Leprechaun hat and the caption, “Drink Responsibly”:
On this St. Paddy's Day, a special message from noted Irishman Robert Francis O'Rourke. pic.twitter.com/JRjMEXhZRY

Too much?
“Irishman” is quite a loaded term for a political party to use alongside an arrest photo on St. Pat’s wknd. At Notre Dame and elsewhere, I know scholars who closely track the way Catholics and Irish Americans have been portrayed — and are still portrayed in America. https://t.co/M9aGI5uS5N

Maybe so:
Do better, @GOP. Be better. https://t.co/FApeUSqApC

“Childish” is probably a fair criticism:
Will an adult please take the Twitter keys away from whichever child is tweeting at the RNC? https://t.co/Lw4NopybHK

But the Left is in full outrage mode:
On #StPatricksDay we learn, again, that the prejudice, ethnic discrimination and bigotry of @GOP has no boundaries. https://t.co/PnKL56vX7m

And here’s Paul Krguman comparing the @GOP to the Nazis and the Holocaust with a paraphrase the Martin Niemöller poem, “First they came. . .”:
I said nothing when they came for the Muslims, because I am not a Muslim
I said nothing when they came for the blacks, because I am not black.
I said nothing when they came for the Jews, because I am not Jewish.
In the end, nobody is safehttps://t.co/xwHP4DT8Iy
