Scarlett Johansson has dropped out the film project “Rub & Tug” about Dante “Tex” Gill, a trans man who rain numerous massage parlors in Pittsburgh during the 1970s:

Johansson said, “I’ve learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realize it was insensitive”:

And if it does get made and a more accurately gendered actor or actress is hired, it could be problematic as well because although Gill is referred to as a “trans man,” she never went through with “hormones or surgery”:
