It wasn't common for Americans to refer to uprisings against authority, even violent ones, as 'insurrections'. Presumably, this was true because we all generally agreed that an 'insurrection' was a legitimate attempt to overthrow a government and establish a new authority in its place.
Democrats and their media lackeys changed that following the rioting that occurred outside and inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021. It was not an insurrection by any normal standard in the American vernacular until the Democrats decided the events of that day could be wielded as a useful political tool.
CNN told us, with a straight face, that this was mostly peaceful while Kamala Harris promoted a bail fund for their release.

According to Merriam-Webster, an insurrection is 'an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government'. By that technical definition, J6 would qualify, as would the George Floyd riots, CHAZ, interference with Supreme Court hearings, blocking traffic, rioting after Trump's election, the pro-Palestinian protests that broke laws, attacking government buildings and police precincts, and so much more.
In other words, Democrats are the biggest insurrectionists in the nation, according to the new definition they forced into use following J6.
Unlike Trump, would-be VP and now leading Democrat candidate for president, Kamala Harris, actually did directly encourage insurrection (again, using the term according to the Democrats' new rules).

If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota. https://t.co/t8LXowKIbw

You don't have to take my word for it. The tweet is still there.
If you ever needed any more evidence that the media are nothing more than Democrat cheerleaders, Harris has left this tweet out in plain sight for four years without being seriously criticized for its content.
The intent is simple: Kamala Harris asked people to fund the release of those jailed for 'revolting against civil authority' in Minnesota. You don't get arrested for protesting peacefully. You get arrested for breaking the law.
Just going through some old Harris tweets. Reminded of when she helped raise money for the Minnesota Bail Fund, which then used that money to bail out criminals who were awaiting trial for violent felonies. pic.twitter.com/XFaMt1uBnk

The Democrats' last great hope to recover from a bumbling Biden is a woman who directly encouraged civil unrest in Minnesota at a time when she knew the protests were regularly devolving into lawless violence and vandalism.
The person who wants to hold the highest office in the nation tasked with ensuring our laws are faithfully executed publicly endorsed making it easier to break the law.
In fact, violent extremists directly benefitted from the fund Harris promoted from her Twitter account.
The funds were used to free a man who shot at police during the Floyd riots, a woman who later went on to commit murder, and a convicted sex offender.

In terms of violence, assaults on police, vandalism, looting, and arson the Floyd protests were far worse than the events of January 6, and presidential hopeful Kamala Harris is partly to blame.
I don't expect the mainstream media will apply the 'insurrectionist' label to the woman who stands to benefit most from the Democrats' revolt against their party's primary, but the GOP certainly should remind voters of her actions often and use it to diffuse the insurrection claims from the Left.
