As we reported earlier this week, Jon Nicosia claimed to have a source who says another big name is about to be axed at CNN. While he could not disclose the name earlier in the week, Nicosia now claims Jim Acosta is next on CNN’s chopping block.
This has not yet been confirmed by CNN, but we can hope.
The person this Discovery exec was talking about is Jim Acosta. CNN (like they did when I reported about Stelter being let go) will be to defend the person. That’s what network PR people do. Keep in mind many of the recent people let go had big support within the network /more

CNN seems serious about creating a new reputation (or creating the appearance they are), and Jim Acosta was definitely the face of the anti-Trump footing the network maintained through the Zucker era.
But did not fit into the ‘middle ground’ vision CNN is being pushed into. Since Acosta was the main Trump lightning rod between the “old” CNN and the new owners future vision he will either go quick, or with a lot of internal pushback. Stay tuned.

We’re not holding our breath that CNN will reform itself in any meaningful way, but it’s still fun to watch.
One important thing that this executive wanted to stress is they are nowhere near done, and Acosta won’t be the last of the “old guard” to go, but this “takes time” and “they’re getting an incredible amount of internal push back from people who want to stay a resistance network”

Translation: Pop that corn! LOL.
As you might have guessed, Twitter users reacted to the news of Acosta’s possible demise at the network.
He might just fill up his diary now

Jim’s diary was a common theme. The classics never grow old!

This should make for quite the entry.

HAHA! Jim Acosta batting away Chris Licht’s arms as he tries to escort him off premises is delicious imagery.

Na na na na, na na na na … Okay, maybe a bit too soon. Let’s wait and see if this actually plays out.

We’d honestly sort of miss this, but Acosta will surface somewhere. Wherever it is, he’ll probably have the greenlight to be an even bigger clown.

Heh.
Acosta announced he was interviewing Lib Skywalker … er … Luke Skywalker, and Twitter users found their way there to mention the potential shakeup for Acosta.
Looking forward to this interview, I am. Tune in tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/jn2WJFFkHL
— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) October 14, 2022
You’re still gonna have a job tomorrow?
Might wanna check your inbox, my dude.

Maybe not tomorrow, but if Nicosia’s correct, that inbox might also have an invite from MSNBC.
Fired you are about to be. Laugh about it I will.

Laugh, we did.
To code, learn.

Now that’s some tweet perfection right there.
We will, of course, let you know when and if Acosta’s departure is verified.
