Did you know that "saving democracy" and protecting the First Amendment meant that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert could never be canceled, or else our Constitution would be toast? I'm not a constitutional scholar, but I don't think the right to have a TV show that can't be canceled even if it loses the network and its owners tens of millions of dollars a year is what James Madison had in mind when he wrote the First Amendment.
Often the screeching about free speech being taken away comes in the form of people who won't shut up, all while nobody does anything to stop them, which you think is something an actual King might do.
Bruce Springsteen is of course one of those people, and I'm willing to bet the DNC wrote the script that he reads off a teleprompter:

Last night 60 Minutes offered another reminder that nobody really cares what liberal celebrities say, but they're still trying. Trump is well into his second term, and he never would have been elected in the first place if anybody had taken these people seriously, but the media's still trying:

First of all, any celebrity who was either cheering or didn’t say a word in 2020 when people were being censored or banned for telling the truth about a variety of things can shove their fake concern about free speech.

Bingo. The Democrats -- Springsteen and Field included -- are just upset that the Left isn't in a position to be the ones doing the censoring. It's as simple as that.
