Recently President Biden said the biggest terrorist threat in the U.S. right now is white supremacy, and a few days later a man described as a “neo-Nazi white supremacist” drove a U-Haul into a security barrier near the White House. Here’s the white supremacist in question:

Just after the incident police arrested the man and a Nazi flag was placed on the ground — the large truck was otherwise empty. Many were a little suspicious about the circumstances.

“On a Biden murder mission”? That sounds serious, and at first the charges reflected that. However, there’s now quite a contrast between the original charges and the updated version.

Here’s how the man was originally charged:
He was originally charged with threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a president, vice president or family member, as well as assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, trespassing and destruction of federal property, US Park Police said.
However, the federal charges have been downgraded quite a bit:
His federal charges have since been downgraded to a single count of depredation of property of the United States in excess of $1,000.
Prosecutors told the court Kandula is not a US citizen, according to Fox News.
