Chris Hayes wanted Colbert's thoughts on Trump but his writers are on strike so it'll have to wait

The Writers Guild of America strike continues:

The Writers Guild of America, which represents 11,500 screenwriters, went on strike on Tuesday after contract negotiations with studios, streaming services and networks failed. By the end of the week, as companies punched back at union in the news media, and striking writers celebrated the disruption of shows filming from finished scripts, Doug Creutz, an analyst at TD Cowen, told clients that a “protracted affair seems likely.” He defined protracted as more than three months — perhaps long enough to affect the Emmy Awards, scheduled for Sept. 18, and delay the fall TV season.

The W.G.A. has vowed to stay on strike for as long as it takes. “The week has shown, I think, just how committed and fervent writers’ feelings are about all of this,” Chris Keyser, a chair of the W.G.A. negotiating committee, said in an interview on Friday. “They’re going to stay out until something changes because they can’t afford not to.”

And do you know what the worst part of that strike is? MSNBC’s Chris Hayes was unable to get Stephen Colbert’s no doubt predictable and lame “jokes” written by other people about Donald Trump’s town hall on CNN last night:

Too bad. Maybe next time!

Is there anything preventing Hayes from contacting Colbert to get his thoughts on Trump’s town hall?

This really sums up the lib media circle of life perfectly.

Nothing better highlights the lib media/late night “comedy” show Circle Juliette quite like an MSNBC personality lamenting not being able to hear a liberal host on CBS recite jokes written by other liberals about a Republican presidential candidate’s town hall performance.

Sad, and then some.

At least something about all this is impressive. Also we all know how this would have ended anyway if there wasn’t a writers’ strike:

Bingo.
