NY Times, WaPo give New Zealand's resigning 'compassionate' authoritarian PM a fawning sendoff

When it comes to radical measures that political leaders and public officials put in place ostensibly to keep people “safe” from Covid, it’s hard to find a politician more draconian than New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who has resigned:

Fighting back tears, Ardern told reporters in Napier that Feb. 7 would be her last day as prime minister.

“I am entering now my sixth year in office, and for each of those years, I have given my absolute all,” she said.

She also announced that New Zealand’s 2023 general elections would be held on Oct. 14, and that she would remain a lawmaker until then.

Her announcement came as a shock to people throughout the nation of 5 million people. Although there had been some chatter in political circles that Ardern might resign before the next election, she’d always maintained she planned to run again.

When it came to the pandemic, Ardern’s lunacy that was poorly disguised as “science” was as authoritarian as it could get. Heck, Ardern put New Zealand into a nationwide lockdown over ONE Covid case.

Add it all up and people like Canadian PM Justin Trudeau remain big fans of Ardern:

And of course some of the U.S. media was spotted doing a bit of fawning:

You can almost see the tears flowing.

The New York Times had this offering:

The Washington Post remembered “Jacindamania”:

“Compassion”?

Media libs consider that a sign of a politician “caring” about them.

LOL! It depends on what your definition of “Jacindamania” is. There was so much Jacindamania that she for some reason felt compelled to resign.

So much for “journalism”… again.
