In the video below, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau acknowledges that the blockades have been removed, but first off, just to be clear, Trudeau is referring to the Freedom Convoy protesters. Police checkpoints and blockades in Ottawa continue:
There are approximately 100 police checkpoints surrounding the secured area downtown. Police will simply ask for your reason for travelling within the area.

However, now that the trucker blockages have been cleared, Justin Trudeau will naturally lift the state of emergency, right? Of course not. Ronald Reagan once said that there’s nothing more permanent than a temporary government program, and presumably the same holds true for states of emergency — at least when it comes to Trudeau’s Emergencies Act powers:
