Yesterday’s jobs report caused a not-so-coincidental change in spin from the Biden White House when it comes to enhanced unemployment benefits:
Two top Biden aides are declining to repeat that enhanced unemployment benefits are not encouraging people to stay home, as Biden stated clearly last month. Instead Deese highlights they are “temporary” and Psaki says governors have “every right” to end enhanced benefits.

However, just because that particular narrative is collapsing doesn’t mean the WH spinsters aren’t trying to make it look as if Biden’s accomplished something historic on the economy front:
If you didn’t criticize Trump when he created 150,000 new jobs a month in his first four months, what’s your critique of @potus when he’s added 530,000 jobs a month his first four months? https://t.co/QvrCufc6Ek
— Ronald Klain (@WHCOS) June 5, 2021
Klain’s victory lap was quickly halted by a flat tire:

Not a single new job was created, not one! The only thing that has changed in the past 4 months is States run by Democrats are allowing businesses to reopen after forcing them to close for the past year. https://t.co/zbXoR0sdMK

Unbelievable that Ron Klain uses this kind of logic https://t.co/zt1wWo3rS5
— Munger (@CMunger2) June 5, 2021
Well, Klain can’t use the other kind of logic, which is actual logic:
Those were jobs Trump created and destroyed by a pandemic which was politicized beyond necessity.
You don’t get to take credit for recreating jobs that were already there, and that you helped destroy. Jesus 😂 https://t.co/EZO6VzE551

I love how they’re taking a victory lap over jobs coming back into the fold not new jobs being created. https://t.co/8UNToaXble

Something was different about the last year… can’t quite put my finger on it. Oh well, probably not important https://t.co/AyTtGKu9Kf

The Democrats really hope everybody forgot, and judging from many of the replies to Klain’s tweet, they either have forgotten or don’t care to admit it.
They think you're idiots. https://t.co/VvCOtgMHFw

That’s abundantly clear.
