The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture has a rather lengthy piece at their website about spotting signs of whiteness and white culture. What kind of things does the list include? Byron York shared just a few:
The National Museum of African American History & Culture wants to make you aware of certain signs of whiteness: Individualism, hard work, objectivity, the nuclear family, progress, respect for authority, delayed gratification, more. Really?
I do not understand why any of this is necessary. There's plenty of legitimately malicious aspects of race relations in the US, why attack concepts and values which are good for anyone regardless of skin color (which I think is most of the things enumerated here)? https://t.co/giWIKt74yq

2020 really is something else.
WTF is this ignorant nonsense?! This museum needs to go if this is what they're trying to push. https://t.co/hDKx9Vk8B2

Shhh- nobody tell the Americans of Chinese, Indian, Iranian, Korean or Filipino origin that they are actually white, according to this chart.

A prominent American museum believes monotheism is a product of white culture. Mohammed is perplexed. https://t.co/ZhgSu54VbB

And here I was thinking it's racist to assume only white people think rationally, work hard, or teach their children independence. Now that I'm educated, I know better. https://t.co/IRlHKWlRQA

It’s all very confusing.
Whew! Thank a non-denominational, non-gendered, anti-patriarchal deity that may or may not exist that we got this warning to be on the watch for things that have made societies successful.
That was close. https://t.co/qWHUspRuPq

So… self-reliance, the scientific method, and hard work are all symptoms of "whiteness"?
I'm sorry, can we stop the simulation and reboot. https://t.co/GybUYl2pw9— Megan Logan (@mlogancreative) July 15, 2020
best thing I've seen in weeks…
Emphasis on Scientific method = WHITE BIAS
Work-before-Play mentality = WHITE BIAS
Respect Authority = WHITE BIAS
Planning for the future = WHITE BIAS

Sorry, but I refuse to believe that hard work, objectivity, self-reliance, competitive drive, and hope are attributes unique to white people. https://t.co/jFtbA0VLz2

If “work hard” is a sign of white culture, somebody forgot to tell Barack Obama:
