The protests and riots in the past week have exposed the huge double standard on the Left when it comes to social distance shaming. Protesters who gathered at government buildings to demand the economy be re-opened in their respective states were accused of helping spread the virus and “kill grandma.”
However, when it comes to protests that have been going on for the past several days, some “public health and disease experts” have said that suddenly large gatherings are a net positive even with the risk of coronavirus spread:
Dozens of public health and disease experts have signed an open letter in support of the nationwide anti-racism protests.
"White supremacy is a lethal public health issue that predates and contributes to COVID-19," they wrote.https://t.co/EewPNgDSu3

And then some.
Barbers were arrested.
Hairdressers were arrested.

Its impossible to legally operate in a country that literally has two sets of rules… which is ironically what is being protested right now.

I cannot begin to describe the damage this story has done to the credibility of health experts everywhere.
Shame on @NPR for running it.
Hardly 10% of those who participated in this Google Doc stunt are legitimate public health servants. Shame on them.https://t.co/K34HwubYkR

So the greatest economic downturn in American history, with all of its obvious health costs, wasn't enough of a rationale for ending lockdowns, but protesting police brutality was. Sounds super sciencey, guys. https://t.co/P46nUi8Sb4

It’s a mystery!
This is gnawing into my brain steadily. I think it's because we were so angrily and authoritatively told again and again that we were grandma killers to even propose weighing the costs of the lockdowns. https://t.co/sGx4OmeRdk

Sooo white supremacy caused COVID-19 now… not China?
Time to defund NPR… this is pure propaganda. https://t.co/q8Dwjm1GC7

I remember when doctors said you shouldn't be in a hospital with a dying family member because it was too dangerous or that you couldn't safely be in a gathering with more than 10 people.
But going to mass protests where most aren't practicing social distancing? They support it. https://t.co/TFPq56WwPG

It’s almost as if this has been about politics the whole time.
