'Bingo'! Mollie Hemingway interrupts media's Trump hypotheticals with self-awareness check about what '*actually* happened'

Yesterday we told you that CNN’s Jake Tapper said he’d love to hear from any member of Congress who would accept oppo research from a foreign source. Tapper’s request came after President Trump said in an interview that if he were approached by a foreign source with dirt on his 2020 opponent, he might accept it. Today, Tapper said he wanted to make it clear what the president said:

Let’s be clear on what the president was asked and what he said.

Stephanopoulos: Your campaign this time around, if foreigners, if Russia, if China, if someone else offers you information on opponents, should they accept it or should they call the FBI?

2/ President Trump: I think maybe you do both. I think you might want to listen, there’s nothing wrong with listening. If somebody called from a country, Norway, “we have information on your opponent.” Oh, I think I’d want to hear it.

Mollie Hemingway is more interested in things other than what Trump might hypothetically do in a given situation and instead provided some reality along with a self-awareness check for Tapper and the media:
