Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno was asked his thoughts about the current state of late night comedy, and this is what he had to say:
Jay Leno laments "one-sided" late night politics, calls for "civility" https://t.co/wGUZ0de3vI

President Trump also tweeted about Leno’s comments. Add it all up and the anti-Trump Resistance isn’t liking it at all.
Jay Leno got fired from late night because he didn’t get the ratings.
Fallon, Kimmel, and Colbert do.

Jay Leno single-handedly convinced me to stop watching late night comedy.
Steven Colbert singlehandedly made me a fan again with the Colbert Report first, and later on #LSSC when he found his footing and dumped the Johnny Carson model.
Thank you @StephenAtHome!

Jay Leno was trending -I thought it was because he finally said something that was funny. I was wrong.

Jay Leno is the garbage human being who gave us the Dancing Itos.
He exploited the brutal double murder of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman as joke material.
Every. Night. Of. The. Trial.
Jay Leno has zero business opening his mouth about ANYTHING. pic.twitter.com/YzgXgkDX8q

Jay Leno is a thief and a liar. Conan O’Brien should’ve held on to that spot as promised by NBC. I’m still bitter after all these years

Boy, that escalated quickly!
Perhaps Leno hit a little too close to the bullseye for the liking of many.
So people are pissed at Jay Leno because he told the truth about how crappy and biased late-night TV is …
Truth hurts. ??♀️

He points out late night comedy is bad b/c all they do is attack Trump. Left gets pissed he criticizes those who criticize Trump…..in effect proving his point.

For the most part, Leno is right. Colbert, Kimmel, and Meyers are total bores.
Conan may not top the ratings but he's the best because he does funny stuff – regardless of the target.
When Bill Burr was on Colbert, you could see the stick in Colbert's ass, growing. https://t.co/5jHkNd73N4

Maybe some of the current late-night hosts will invite Leno on to talk about it. Or maybe not.
