Meanwhile, the United States has weighed in on that nation’s leadership:
Today @POTUS announced the U.S. officially recognizes Juan Guaidó as the Interim President of Venezuela. To @JGuaido & the people of Venezuela: America stands with you & we will continue to stand with you until #Libertad is restored! pic.twitter.com/4W3hlGplql

Mexico has reportedly said they would recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s leader, while many other nations joined the U.S. in recognizing Guaidó:

?? Canada
?? Brazil
?? Argentina
?? Paraguay
?? Peru
?? Chile
?? Colombia

One blue check journalist has asked for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to intervene (somehow) and has accused Trump of helping out with a “coup” in Venezuela:
.@AOC, Trump is effectively declaring a coup in Venezuela, recognizing an unelected rightwing opposition figure as president. You have 2.6M followers and an enormous following on the left. You could have a very positive impact by speaking out against the Trump-led coup. Will you?

Hmm, isn’t that interesting?
Wonder how the Russia collusion hysteria Lefties are gonna circle the square of the fact that Venezuela is a heavily Putin-backed socialist dictatorship https://t.co/psf5yGRFxV https://t.co/y5rRZthGgC

You are wrong about Venezuela. Not everything is about Trump. Venezuelans are in the midst of an enormous humanitarian crisis and deserve to be rid of their narcotraficante government. THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU.

Going to need you to learn something about coups and general history before you tweet anymore, Ben.
