As you now know, the office of special counsel Robert Mueller has thrown a giant wrench into the gears of Buzzfeed’s “bombshell” report about Trump that had much of the media in an “impeachment” feeding frenzy.

Chris Matthew was skeptical from the start — skeptical of the special counsel’s Resistance buzzkill of a response to Buzzfeed’s original reporting, that is:
MUELLER'S OFFICE: The BuzzFeed article is “not accurate.”
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Not accurate doesn’t mean it’s not true.

Sounds like somebody’s not happy that Mueller’s office took this week’s leg thrill away!
Yes it does Chris. “Not accurate” mean that they are not correct which means they are incorrect and untrue.

And yes, Chris, it looks like Mueller’s office was refuting the entire story:
You can spend hours parsing the Carr statement, but given how unusual it is for any DOJ office to issue this sort of on the record denial, let alone this office, suspect it means the story’s core contention that they have evidence Trump told Cohen to lie is fundamentally wrong.

Update: I now believe I was interpreting this pushback too narrowly. The statement is less than clear but it appears Mueller is refuting the entire premise of the Buzzfeed story, including the idea that Trump instructed Cohen to lie. https://t.co/6GyluFAXkz

This will all have to be said louder because Matthews currently has his ears plugged.
