As you now know, the office of special counsel Robert Mueller has thrown a giant wrench into the gears of Buzzfeed’s “bombshell” report about Trump that had much of the media in an “impeachment” feeding frenzy.

Chris Matthew was skeptical from the start — skeptical of the special counsel’s Resistance buzzkill of a response to Buzzfeed’s original reporting, that is:

And yes, Chris, it looks like Mueller’s office was refuting the entire story:
You can spend hours parsing the Carr statement, but given how unusual it is for any DOJ office to issue this sort of on the record denial, let alone this office, suspect it means the story’s core contention that they have evidence Trump told Cohen to lie is fundamentally wrong.
