Yesterday, Dem congressman and possible presidential candidate Eric Swalwell used an NPR story to lecture Donald Trump Jr. about “the truth”:

A good lesson for all kids (and for anyone in the White House): the truth always comes out. https://t.co/ox7kMjs65c

And you know what? Swalwell is absolutely correct about the truth always coming out eventually (just not in the way he THINKS):

NPR FINALLY corrects totally bogus story and deletes tweet on Donald Trump Jr. and Russia https://t.co/33PGiUtMZZ

(An earlier version of this story and an earlier tweet mischaracterized an answer Donald Trump Jr. gave to Senate investigators in 2017. The story has been updated, and the tweet has been deleted.) pic.twitter.com/R0RGiXOD54

Maybe next time, Rep. Swalwell!

You were saying Eric? Maybe you should read the correction issued rather than chasing yet another shiny object. After 2 years of fails it just makes you look stupid (a fitting look for you). Obviously the truth isn’t convenient for your objective so I imagine you’ll stay quiet! https://t.co/VKpgPcZ8Tj

So it’s settled then:

A good lesson for all kids (and for anyone in the Democratic Party): make sure your dunk on someone is the truth and isn’t later corrected by the source. https://t.co/GJwjTupVlS

Always a good rule of thumb!
