Yesterday, Democrat Sen. Brian Schatz sounded the alarm about some people from the migrant caravan attempting to enter the U.S. illegally a little too loud, because he ended up deleting an absolutely idiotic tweet. But fellow Dem Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, most recently best known for going through Brett Kavanaugh’s high school yearbook with a fine-toothed comb while wearing a tinfoil hat, seconded Schatz’s concern by a quote that appears on Lady Liberty:
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” https://t.co/YD7PkWvi5W— Sheldon Whitehouse (@SenWhitehouse) November 26, 2018
Does any of that say “break through a fence and enter the country illegally”?
Citing a poem was donated to raise money Sheldon does not make illegal crossings right. https://t.co/02LvjjcQ74

Dems like Whitehouse make it a point to always conflate legal with illegal immigration.

Apparently America's Constitution has been replaced by a statue that was a gift from France? ??? https://t.co/FjBfPy2gW5

He appears to think it's a law, not a sonnet…

The Dems are trying their best though.
Update: A little correction to the senator’s tweet:
@SenWhitehouse It's 'tost', not "tossed". pic.twitter.com/1NhNO2IMiH
