'Dumbest tweet ever'? ThinkProgress compared romaine lettuce to guns and the replies are GOLD

We’re not quite sure how to introduce this one, so without further adieu, here ya go:

Romaine lettuce is too dangerous to be in stores, but guns are still available 24 hours per day https://t.co/Moza2NKtlF pic.twitter.com/UXRES0eX8E

— ThinkProgress (@thinkprogress) November 24, 2018

And we’re pretty sure they weren’t hacked by the staff at The Onion.

There is no constitutional right to bear salad.

Don’t bother ThinkProgress with reality, they’re on a roll!

There should definitely be background checks and mandatory ID to buy salad.

Close the coleslaw loophole NOW.

TP’s tweet was a gift from the mockery gods:

So, vegans are more dangerous than gun owners?

To think that any child could purchase a bag of lettuce anytime they wanted, without a background check. https://t.co/onG5H9RTqW

And just imagine what might happen if guns and lettuce cross paths:

good god now we have guns with romaine bayonets

*Romayonet.

The horror!

Using the word “think” in your publication’s name is pretty generous.

— Jessica Fletcher (@heckyessica) November 24, 2018

LMAO!

Quite possibly the dumbest Tweet ever… https://t.co/UjjPZLROK9
