As Twitchy told you earlier, an upcoming movie about the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, with Ryan Gosling playing Neil Armstrong, has already sparked some criticism over one iconic moment that won’t be portrayed in the film:
SERIOUSLY? New Neil Armstrong biopic can't quite bring itself to depict an iconic AMERICAN moment https://t.co/E3bEdP38z7

Gosling defended the decision to not portray an American flag being planted on the moon by saying Armstrong would have wanted it that way:
Neil Armstrong movie 'First Man' omits the American flag being planted on the moon, and star Ryan Gosling defended the decision: 'I don't think that Neil viewed himself as an American hero' https://t.co/zGXR5z19OA

Twitter users asked American hero and retired Gen. Chuck Yeager, who was immortalized in the Tom Wolfe book “The Right Stuff” and movie of the same name, about it:
@GenChuckYeager Ryan Gosling is coming out with the movie First Man where it portrays Neil Armstrong as a liberal progressive anti Trump (in spirit) non-flag waiver. Probably agree with the National Anthem kneelers, too; at least in Hollywood's liberal imagination. For your Info.

Details of other depictions in the movie remain to be seen, but Yeager responded to those questions in a couple of tweets:
That's not the Neil Armstrong I knew

More Hollywood make-believe

Ouch! Looks like liberal Hollywood’s spin on Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong just crashed & burned.

I think Chuck Yeager is a bit more credible than Gosling in his interpretive position of Neil Armstrong. It was America that placed the flag there not Canada. https://t.co/pcDrhUuyjH
