'Be gentle'?!? Rose McGowan gets backlash over tepid reaction to allegations against #MeToo leader Asia Argento

As Twitchy reported yesterday, actress, #MeToo leader and Harvey Weinstein accuser Asia Argento has been hit with some allegations of her own:

That story came by way of the New York Times:

Another actress who is at the forefront of the #MeToo movement and who has serious accusations against Harvey Weinstein, Rose McGowan, was initially stunned by the accusation against Argento:

I got to know Asia Argento ten months ago. Our commonality is the shared pain of being assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. My heart is broken. I will continue my work on behalf of victims everywhere.

However, McGowan is also calling on people to reserve judgment of Argento:

Rose, this is one of the most messed up things you could have tweeted right now. If it were a man being accused, you would be on the warpath. But because it’s a woman and it’s your friend, you’re throwing out MAJOR double-standards. That’s incredibly toxic to this movement.

in recent months men have been crucified over much less by you and the MeToo movement. They have lost jobs, relationships and respect despite some being cleared of all allegations. This women verses men BS is crippling humanity.
