AWKWARD: WaPo fact check torpedoes Dem (and some journalists') SCOTUS narrative

As you know, the Democrats have settled on a Supreme Court narrative and they’re going at it hard:

Americans are about to see if @SenateMajLdr & @SenateGOP will heed the McConnell Rule or rashly proceed to confirm a nominee.

The future of our democracy is at stake. The people deserve a voice in a decision that could radically alter the course of American justice for decades. https://t.co/wIvTSM9gb0

In 2016, Senate Republicans said that the American people deserve an opportunity to speak on Supreme Court nominees.

Now that Justice Kennedy is retiring and @realDonaldTrump is president, will they silence them? pic.twitter.com/nT0wtgET6O

In Judiciary Hearing.

I will argue, among other things, that we should wait until after the election (McConnell rule) to hear and vote on a Supreme Court nominee. pic.twitter.com/u7jVi45y8p

Many in Hollywood, as well as some journalists, have given an assist in the last few days:

TDS escalation! Rob Reiner PLEADS with GOPers to 'stand up against tyranny' before constitutional process is followed on SCOTUS https://t.co/oPkXcqjNRX

Will be interesting to see how some GOP senators rationalize the idea that it’s suddenly now ok to debate an open SCOTUS seat in an election year. They may fully pull that hypocrisy muscle.

It was too much for Washington Post fact checker Glenn Kessler:

Democrats are simply spinning a false narrative about "election year" votes –> https://t.co/ffSQrV5Obk

Just Dem politicians?

AND journalists. Also, this isn't just some rando blue checkmark. this is the Washington Posts fact checker. https://t.co/BYqmkFRlCi

What will the Dems & liberal media do now? Probably completely ignore that and keep pushing the same talking points.
