Allen West is meeting with Donald Trump today, and a controversial meme that was posted on West’s Facebook page (and since removed) is the subject of a Buzzfeed story:
“FIRED BY OBAMA TO PLEASE THE MUSLIMS. HIRED BY TRUMP TO EXTERMINATE THEM,” the post read with a picture of Mattis. https://t.co/gmt15x1ypM

The editor-in-chief of West’s website apologized in a Facebook post, writing that the meme was posted by somebody without approval and not created by anybody connected to Allen West.
Buzzfeed editor Ben Smith is waiting for a response from … Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, General James Mattis:
Mattis is really going to remain silent on this? https://t.co/vmc0elgR1q

Just perfect:
There's nothing more Buzzfeed than the idea that public figures should be frenetically commenting on memes.

Right!? Cooke pointed out to Buzzfeed that they’re missing the REAL angle here:
Mattis should respond to someone's meme? Ridiculous.
What I'm interested in is what the Gaines's pastor thinks. https://t.co/XBXNlXa2wQ

Ha! Maybe Buzzfeed will get to that one soon.
