Donald Trump told a CNN town hall a couple days ago that his campaign manager tried to stop reporter Michelle Fields from approaching him because she had a pen in her hand that could have been a knife.

Robertson’s defense of Corey Lewandowski:

The female reporter rushed the candidate. Where were the Secret Service people who were supposed to defend him? She could’ve had a knife. She could’ve had a gun. She could’ve had a bomb. But the Secret Service did nothing and so now the aide is being sued.

Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager, has been charged with battery in spite of Robertson’s defense.
