The optics of President Obama attending a baseball game in Cuba with Raul Castro and later doing the Tango in Argentina were criticized by many as the kind of message that shouldn’t have been sent after the Brussels attacks.
John Kerry was asked about it, and the secretary of state said such criticism was not appropriate. Why? Because Obama was “in touch” throughout:
