Hack-tastic: CNN host asks if Brian Williams should be blamed if 'pilots can't get the story straight'

Yesterday, CNN said that a pilot they interviewed who previously claimed the helicopter Brian Williams was aboard in Iraq did indeed come under fire was “no longer standing by his story.”

Having retracted the story didn’t prevent this question from being explored on CNN today:

Can @BWilliams be blamed when the pilots can’t get the story straight? @franksesno joins me next @CNN #Smerconish

— Michael Smerconish (@smerconish) February 7, 2015

Er, what?

OMG Smercornish is on CNN still reporting that the Williams' pilots are contradicting one another.

CNN RETRACTED THAT STORY.

Yeah, there’s that.

@smerconish @BWilliams @franksesno @CNN Quit making excuses for Brian Williams. He is a congenital liar and has no place in the media.

@smerconish @BWilliams @franksesno @CNN You're just trying to be provocative, right? An absurd question. That's something you don't forget!

Did the pilot claim to be in an event that didn't happen @smerconish? If not, then yes – @BWilliams, is *lying*! @CNN

@smerconish Know without a doubt if BWms story were Fox reporter, you'd be 24/7 calling for his resignation! not making excuses @cnn
