As Twitchy reported yesterday, Hillary Clinton expressed her support for President Obama’s executive order on immigration during a speech at the New York Historical Society. MSNBC political reporter Alex Seitz-Wald tweeted one of Clinton’s lines this way:

That comment went hand-in-hand with President Obama referring to the people being helped by his executive order on immigration as “the people who pick our fruit and make our beds.”
Did Team Hillary flip after her quote was made public? Today, Seitz-Wald decided context was in order:

Backpedal alert!
@aseitzwald …and in 140 characters or less, you derailed what was remaining of her train wreck of a shot at the WH. Cool!

The quote was not inaccurate the first time:

Perhaps context is the problem.
.@aseitzwald The full context being she sees a Latino and “guesses” they are here illegally.

@RBPundit @aseitzwald That's some twisted profiling going on right there.

Trying to remember the last time a republican got the "but context" qualifier. Hmmm. Let me see. Hang on. Umm. @redsteeze @aseitzwald

@redsteeze @aseitzwald He wouldn't care about context if a Republican had said that line.

@redsteeze @aseitzwald That's what makes them good at their job…they can explain what a D meant when they stick their foot in their mouth!

And I had Latinos defending the apple picker and bed maker comment by POTUS. It's all about who's on your "side" @RBPundit @aseitzwald
— Stacey (@ScotsFyre) November 22, 2014
If a Conservative said either one can you imagine the screams of "racist" from the Left? @VCRWD @RBPundit @aseitzwald
— Stacey (@ScotsFyre) November 22, 2014
? It doesn't matter if it is cloaked in the guise of sympathy. Racial stereotypes are racism. @ODunavan @VCRWD @RBPundit @aseitzwald

Hey @aseitzwald thanks for the full context of Hillary's remarks, now it's clear the whole audience was racist too pic.twitter.com/T8y7oBTwY3

#WhiteSplaining to us stupid Hispanics MT @aseitzwald: I tweeted one line of Clinton's remarks on immigration but full context is important.
— ¡El Sooopèrr! ن c137 (@SooperMexican) November 22, 2014
@SooperMexican He's just now realizing how bad the quote is. He thought he was tweeting something profound. LOL@aseitzwald
