Another Vox article is currently being relentlessly mocked.
What’s the latest embarrassment? Vox.com insinuated that demonstrators in Hong Kong using the “hands up” gesture were inspired by protesters in Ferguson, Mo.
The Washington Post’s Wesley Lowery helped Vox falsely link the two:

Nobody ever put their hands up and said “don’t shoot” before Ferguson?
Any claims that the “hands up” gesture from demonstrators in Hong Kong are inspired by Ferguson protesters aren’t true:

But after he was called on it, Lowery continued to defend the position:
Why am I not surprised that @WesleyLowery fell for the made up claim that Hong Kong protestors were mimicking the Ferguson protest?

It’s been “exported” to Hong Kong? Keep spinning.

@WesleyLowery As usual, you are making things up. Where is there evidence the chant was "exported"? No proof it was used even once in HK.

Dear @WesleyLowery, you're embarrassing yourself with this tweet. "Hands up" were exported? Are you insane? @AG_Conservative

It isn’t inaccurate reporting, it’s just that people are reading it wrong. Got that?
.@WesleyLowery @RBPundit You make up a claim about the chant being "exported" and we are the hacks? Lol ok
— (((AG))) (@AGHamilton29) September 29, 2014
Where's your evidence that the protesters in Hong Kong are even aware of the protesting styles in Ferguson? @WesleyLowery @AG_Conservative

.@WesleyLowery Alright. Then a simple "I was wrong" would be nice. @AG_Conservative

Amazing.
@EdB_Ohio @RBPundit @WesleyLowery Yep. it's hilarious. Some people don't know how to stop digging.

According to the lefty US Media, from this day forward, anyone who puts their hands up in the air is doing so in solidarity with Ferguson.
