The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing against the Philadelphia Eagles in a preseason matchup airing on the NFL Network, but there are no announcers at the game. The announcers are calling the game from a studio.
Many viewers aren’t liking the concept at all:
I DESPISE this "let's announce the game from the NFL Network studios" Let the team announcers call the damn game, this is horrible.

This @nflnetwork presentation is awful. Announcers are not at the game and it's non stop @kurt13warner noise.
— Bolter (@wombatnation99) August 22, 2014
How cheap is @NFL network that these guys can't even commentate at the game just in a studio #c'monman
— JJ Borecky (@jjborecky) August 22, 2014
NFL Network needs to stop this crap, man. Just play the authentic broadcast.
— Justin Russo (@FlyByKnite) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork who's bright idea to have the commentators call the game from the studio? Is this gonna happen all season? #awful
— Isaac M Butler (@iceman412) August 22, 2014
Is it me or is the NFL Network unwatchable? #NFL #nflnetwork

@nflnetwork – good job making it completely obvious that you couldn't send someone to the game!
— TranceLegion (@TranceLegion) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork Having commentators work from the studio is horrendous- you've made the game unwatchable, on to something else #eagles #steelers
— John Anderson (@EinarRetentive) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork Where is the crowd noise? The crackle of a crisp tackle? The local HS teams have better TV coverage than this. @Eagles
— Porkins's Last Stand (@WordSaladSoup) August 22, 2014
NFL Network on mute >>>> NFL Network
— Dee Breezy (@ctdee) August 22, 2014
Why does @nflnetwork not send a broadcast crew? Why are these guys calling the game from LA? Why not just have local guys do it
— John Middlekauff (@JohnMiddlekauff) August 22, 2014
@Woodsy1069 @whsanchez111 @nflnetwork I'd rather listen to one of local telecasts than these 2 guys sounding like they're home having beer

.@nflnetwork exec: "how can we take some excitement from these telecasts?" Other exec "I know! Don't send announcers to games!" #awfulidea
— Chris Leible ???⛓ (@ChrisLeible) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork not even having announcers at the game is cheap and bush league. Make those two fly to the game.
— Timothy miller (@timdiggity1) August 22, 2014
did the NFL Network not even care enough to send play by play guys to the game? #preseason #whyamiwatching #coopertheracist
— Mike Hommerding (@MikeHommerding) August 22, 2014
These announcers have NO IDEA what's going on because they're not there, very poorly done broadcast @nflnetwork
— Zack Moore (@ZackMooreNFL) August 22, 2014
Giving up on lame @NFLNetwork coverage, switching #LLWS on @espn
— John Dorsey (@johnsdorsey) August 22, 2014
If you find out, let me know. What's the problem? RT @jerry93292: What's @nflnetwork customer service number?
— 49ers Gab (@49ersGab) August 22, 2014
@PeytonsHead Must be lean times @nflnetwork . Two guys sitting at home calling the game.
— Jakey Boy (@G2392FS) August 22, 2014
This is a really bad move by @nflnetwork, makes them look cheap to the fans. Maybe it was an experiment, but there's no energy to broadcast
— Zack Moore (@ZackMooreNFL) August 22, 2014
This is garbage. Not only does @nflnetwork not have the broadcasters not at the stadium, they're 3000 miles away. Smh #PITvsPHI
— JW (@jkrw3) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork, would you make a really big presentation to @Verizon through @Skype or in person? Why wouldn't your announcers be at the game?
— Zack Moore (@ZackMooreNFL) August 22, 2014
@nflnetwork we cannot hear the sounds of the game..feels like a replay.. what gives???
