Actor Zach Braff surprised 'liberal Jewish gun-hater' like him has so many Texas followers

“Scrubs” actor Zach Braff may have taken a selfie with Mitt Romney one time, but he’s made it clear he’s no Republican. Given that fact, Braff is surprised he has so many Twitter followers from Texas:

A couple of people didn’t seem to appreciate the blanket statement:

@zachbraff looks like somebody has bought into an ill-fitting stereotype. #Xoxo

Braff was reminded that there are non-Republican “gun haters” in Texas:

@sandchigger @zachbraff Hey I'm a liberal, non theist, gun disliker born and raised in Texas too!

@zachbraff I'm a liberal Jewish gun-hater who was born, raised and lives in Texas

@zachbraff I live in texas and I, too, am a liberal Jewish gun hater. Lol

Braff was also reminded that there are also entire areas of the state more likely to agree politically with him:

@zachbraff The entire population of Austin probably follows you. No one else.

@zachbraff Austin always has room for more Californians Zach. On second thought it's like 50% Californians now. 🙁

As it turns out, even some who fit Braff’s stereotype of Texas residents are also his fans:

@zachbraff Some of us gun-toting, right-winging, bible thumpers are actually big fans. Go figure.

@zachbraff it's because Texans don't look to you for political guidance. Rather for the great entertainment you provide in your profession.

@zachbraff I'm a Christian libertarian with a gun who lives in Dallas. It doesn't mean I don't know talent when I see it!

@zachbraff You know that Texans are okay with differing opinions. <3
