Ever since Ashley Judd took her name out of contention for a run to unseat U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, the Democrats have been searching for a candidate. They now have one in Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes:
Alison Grimes: "Kentucky is tired of 28 yrs of obstruction" while McConnell "quadrupled his net worth." It's on & it won't be pretty.

The GOP and McConnell were ready:
NRSC, pro-McConnell group Kentuckians for Strong Leadership, Kentucky GOP all out with releases tying Lundergan Grimes to national Dem Party

McConnell already fundraising off of Grimes' announcement, sends out fundraising solicitation to prevent "another rubberstamp" for Obama

The reason the GOP is saying Grimes has ties to Obama is because … she has ties to Obama:
Well, she kinda sorta nominated Obama. MT @ajjaffe NRSC, KY for Strong Leadership, KY GOP all tying Lundergan Grimes to national Dem Party

Alison Grimes' nominated President Obama for President. Only 37.8% of Kentuckians agreed with her decision. #KYSEN

Grimes might have some explaining to do along the way:
Hmm. Among top donors to Alison Grimes in 2011: Kentucky Bankers Association, Steptoe & Johnson lobbying firm, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.
