Bam!
As Twitchy has reported, Egyptian protesters continue to take to the streets by the millions.
Ace of Spades has noticed a distinct lack of U.S. mainstream media curiosity about what’s going on in Egypt:
media strangely incurious about massive protests against Obama allies Ergodan and Morsi #Tahir #Taksim #WeNoticeEvenIfOurMediaDoesnt

Turkish democrats/reformers have been trying to get the world's attention for weeks; the American media has almost completely ignored them

But as with Turkey, the media is bored. They only seem to be interested in foreign stories to the extent they can be played as pro-Obama.

I would love to know if Obama flacks are poor-mouthing the #Taksim and #Tahir uprisings to the media behind the scenes.

Media seems to only care about momentous foreign events when Obama tells them to http://t.co/KEmHTxTc59

With that in mind, Ace decided to perform a valuable service for the Egyptian protesters by informing them about what they need to do in order to draw more attention from the American press:
If the Egyptian democrats were smart they'd ask Wendy Davis to give a speech. Pretty sure @sarahkliff would be all over it then.

Ha!
Ace then went on to get to the bottom of what caused the protest, U.S. State Department style:
The State Department just blamed the #Egypt protests on "that disgraceful video" Weekend at Bernie's II
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) June 30, 2013
just saw a man in #Egypt say, "The first Weekend at Bernie's was magical, inspired, but the second? A shameful cash-in."

Hillary Clinton has announced she will "find the people responsible" for Weekend at Bernie's II. BOLO: http://t.co/bYdEg6xiMw

People are now throwing stones at the #Egypt embassy waving signs that say "The body would have decomposed after so long!!!"

Breaking: State Department produces $25 million ad to run on #Egypt tv that states "the future must not belong to those who sully Bernie"

The State Department’s Monday morning press release has just been undercut.
