“Drop box limits”—SB90 sets consistent hours (8-12 hours/day during early voting) and improves security by staffing each box. Before anyone says that’s too “limiting,” remember: there is a drop box in front of every home and on most street corners. It’s called a mail box.

Vote trafficking has been abused to rob people of their right to vote, especially the vulnerable and the elderly. Most Americans agree it is a bad idea to put voted ballots in the hands of operatives with an interest in the outcome of a race.

For the record, under SB90, any voter can help anyone in their immediate family: spouses, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren, and any two other people. And the two-ballot limit doesn’t apply during supervised voting in nursing homes.

“Ban on universal mail ballots”—SB90 simply says that officials cannot mail ballots to voters who didn’t request them. Mailing unsolicited ballots guarantees that ballots will go to voters who have moved, died, or want to vote in person. SB90 means less waste & fraud risk.
