As Twitchy told you earlier this week, new information came to light that would have been helpful to the overall discussion if it were brought up during the CNN town hall where Broward County Sheriff slammed the NRA and Dana Loesch. Just a day after CNN’s town hall that resembled more of a show trial for the NRA, CNN reported that a tipster had called the Broward County sheriff’s office to warn that Nikolas Cruz could be a “shooter in the making.” Now comes this:
Broward County Sheriff’s office confirms to @RosaFlores it is investigating claims that three additional deputies didn’t attempt to make entry into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School after shooting began there, as Coral Springs Police officers claim, as CNN 1st reported.

Many police officers were surprised to find that not only the armed school resource officer but 3 other Broward County sheriff’s deputies were outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting crisis and hadn’t entered, sources tell CNN https://t.co/BeK51IcxsB pic.twitter.com/RSbtvd01Yh

You know, maybe a follow-up town hall meeting is in order — one where ALL the facts are on the table going in.
Maybe someday you can have a townhall meeting where you can ask the sheriff about that. Oh well, whatcha do.. https://t.co/Ucq98xfBSQ

We won’t hold our breath.
Might've been nice to know before you gave him a microphone and a platform to blame the NRA, huh? https://t.co/gzIu9Rt7LS

Good thing no one gave the Sheriff a huge megaphone for preemptive CYA. https://t.co/IjpU8ICN0t

Amazingly, that didn’t stop the Broward County Sheriff from blaming Republicans and the NRA for his abject failure. https://t.co/VqgST7KjlM

So he lied to the entire country during that townhall. Wow. https://t.co/C66w9SIxpk

A follow-up town hall is definitely in order.
