Donald Trump's former attorney Jenna Ellis has accepted a plea deal with prosecutors in a Fulton County court house this morning, pleading to 'one count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings' according to Tamar Hallerman of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

As Hellerman notes this is the fourth of the defendants being charged by Fulton County DA Fani Willis who has accepted a plea deal before going to trial. We have to assume that Willis isn't handing out these deals without some assurance that the defendants have something worthwhile to contribute to her case against former President Donald Trump, so this is yet another problem for him and his defense in his case.
It's also not exactly a sweetheart deal for Ellis; a guilty finding on a felony indictment is something that should never be taken lightly.
Felony. ". . . upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years, or both." Ga. Code Ann. § 16-10-20.

The statute, OCGA 16-10-20 calls for punishment from 1 to 5 years, which, altho it can be probated means Ellis is pleading to a felony charge. https://t.co/zv4cxccbX2 https://t.co/WRwBazF5N9

Certainly not nothing.
I guess the inflow of donations to her legal defense grift was decelerating enough that it was a net negative to legal expenses & she got nervous the sweetheart deals were running out.

Cynical? Perhaps, but Ellis has been highly publicizing her efforts to raise money for her legal defense through her Twitter account, so it's a fair question to ask how that all played into this, and where the money she already raised went... as other are noting as well.
Remember when she cried she was innocent and would fight the charges begging for money for her legal defense? https://t.co/2om8rQtbYE

It's hard to imagine that having this level of cooperation from co-defendants on the Georgia charges will be helpful to Donald Trump and his lawyers, but if there's one thing that the former President has shown it's an ability to squeeze out of sticky situations. Time will tell.
