Chad Ochocinco loses his job; Update: Calls himself an 'unemployed black guy'

Former Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco is not subject to waivers. He now becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Twitchy.com will closely monitor Ochocinco’s Twitter account where we’re sure he’ll have something to say! In the meantime, here’s what the Twitterverse is saying:

@ochocinco sorry to hear about your release, was hoping to see you bounce back this season…

On the bright side Chad Ochocinco, at least now that your #Patriots career is over you can now fully focus on you Reality TV career. Right?

Ochocinco must either been dumb as a box of rocks or have ZERO football IQ!

Sucks the Pats are releasing Ochocinco he has a lot of talent, hopefully someone picks him up. It'd suck to go out like T.O.

The New England Patriots are loaded at the wide receiver position which led many people to believe it was only a matter of time before Ochocinco was released. The bigger story here shouldn’t be that the Patriots cut him, but rather how they failed to find a trade partner first.

Surely somebody will give the 34-year-old a chance to make their team, but only God knows who.

UPDATE: Ochocinco finally acknowledged the move via Twitter. To our surprise, he didn’t have anything negative to say.

Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the "Patriot" organization… fans were fucking wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best…

In addition to that Tweet, Ochocinco updated his bio:

He may be the richest “unemployed black guy” in the world.
