We always hear people say that the “NFL is a business” and we know that ultimately every owner and general manager is going to do what’s best for the team. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the facts.
On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers proved that to be true by announcing the release of fan favorite safety, Nick Collins.
The 28-year-old suffered a serious neck injury last season and had neck fusion surgery in September. Collins has made three Pro Bowls and has recorded twenty-one career interceptions. When healthy, he’s undoubtedly one of the best safeties in the NFL.
He expects to make a full recovery and hopes to catch on with a different team soon.
