Facebook paying Microsoft millions for AOL patents

It looks like Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg felt like throwing a few million dollars away on Monday so he went ahead and paid $550 million cash to Microsoft for 650 AOL patents and patent applications.

Earlier this month Microsoft acquired 800 patents from AOL for $1 billion.

Microsoft will reportedly retain 275 of those patents.
