Dr. Abdul El-Sayed Means It When He Says We Desperately Need a Democrat Doctor in the Senate

As Twitchy has been reporting, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who has his eye on the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028, has been exploiting a measles outbreak in the commonwealth to score points against Health and Human Services Secretary John F. Kennedy Jr. When asked by a reporter about the fact that an infant he'd claimed had died from measles actually died from a lacerated spleen, Shapiro said that he didn't think "it serves the interest of public health … for me to get into a back and forth about conspiracy theories showing up online."

A couple of weeks ago, FactPost, the account run by the people who used to run KamalaHQ, claimed that Pennsylvania had suffered four measles deaths this year. If FactPost actually posted facts, it would have specified "measles-associated" deaths, kind of like those COVID-related deaths, like car crashes where the driver tested positive for the virus. Shapiro pounced again when there was an infant who died with measles in Amish country. Actually, the coroner found the infant was born with a rare genetic condition that is not generally found outside the Amish community: Amish lethal microcephaly. Most babies with that condition live only four to six months, he said. In both cases, neither infant would have received the measles vaccine yet anyway, which isn't recommended until 15 months.

Now, FactPost is saying that at least six babies in Pennsylvania have been born infected with measles. Again, since the MMR vaccine isn't given until 15 months, we're not sure how vaccines would prevent newborns from being infected.

This time, it was Dr. Abdul El-Sayed who pounced, saying that this is the reason "we desperately need a Democratic doctor in the U.S. Senate." Does he know of one?

It's gruesome that they're so excited whenever a new measles case pops up as a cudgel to use against RFK, and by extension, the Trump administration. As Kennedy told Shapiro last time, "CDC’s MMR recommendation remains unchanged. I have repeatedly stated that MMR vaccination is the most effective way to prevent measles infection."

Who insisted more that we call them a doctor, El-Sayed or Jill Biden?
