It was October 2024 when CNN panelist Ryan Girdusky was banned from CNN NewsNight and the network overall after he told fellow panelist Mehdi Hasan, "I hope your beeper doesn’t go off." All hell broke loose after Girdusky joked that Hasan was a terrorist. Hasan's not a terrorist. But if there was any way he could make it more obvious that he's a terrorist sympathizer, we don't know what it is.
On the 25th anniversary of September 11 last Friday, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that the 9/11 terrorists attacked us because they hate our values.

Any mention of Islamophobic terrorists and Hasan is right there, butthurt and ready to argue.
This is child-like ignorance and inanity and embarrassing to see from a Supreme Court Justice. We are governed by right-wing idiots at all the highest levels of our government. https://t.co/Gdsop6g1sl

Hasan got hit with a Community Note for that one:
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Osama bin Laden's manifesto: "You are the nation who, rather than ruling by the Shariah of Allah in its Constitution and Laws, choose to invent your own laws as you will and desire. You separate religion from your policies..."
Hasan went on to quote bin Laden himself:
"If Bush says we hate freedom, let him tell us why we didn't attack Sweden, for example... I say to you, God knows that it had never occurred to us to strike the towers. But after it became unbearable and we witnessed the oppression and tyranny of the American/Israeli coalition…
— Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan) September 14, 2026
The post continues:
… against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it came to my mind." - Bin Laden, 2004
You don’t have to drag your hero into this.
— Anthony Bialy (@AnthonyBialy) September 14, 2026
In his various communiqués, bin Laden had a pretty far-reaching critique of western society out of "the creation of Israel is a crime which must be erased" is just one.
— Matthew Yglesias (@mattyglesias) Sep 13, 2026
I'm not denying that. But that's not why he attacked us - as he himself says, why didn't he attack Sweden? Pretty sure Sweden is way more socially liberal and Godless than the United States.
— Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan) September 14, 2026
Yes, Sweden, a major player on the world stage comparable to the United States. 🙄
— D Block (@Dhmcgrath77) September 14, 2026
You realize that the United States is more important than Sweden, right?
— Sir Danvers (@TheSirDanvers) September 14, 2026
Obviously because the United States was seen as the leader of the free world that enabled all the other liberal countries? You’re smart enough to realize this on your own
— 🗽 (@TheGreatDXA) September 14, 2026
Al Qaeda attacked Sweden in 2010 so that was a lie, too. https://t.co/lTz9wyMa4c
— Zack Stentz (@MuseZack) September 14, 2026
Hasan gets so butthurt anytime anyone mentions Islamic terrorism or speaks badly about Islamic terrorists.
They obviously didn’t attack Sweden because America is a far more powerful enemy to strike a blow to. You know this.
— Simple Midwest Man (@growintfast) September 14, 2026
Your cognitive dissonance has to be confusing internally. Do you sometimes forget what you truly believe? I’m curious
Probably for the same reasons you moved to the US and not Sweden
— Roee (@eldenroee) September 14, 2026
Boom.
I remember a dark joke going around about what if the 9/11 terrorists had decided to attack Canada. What would they fly their planes into? The CN Tower?
There is no good faith interpretation of this dude. You are just defending him at this point, Osama lays bare in plain words why he's doing the awful crap he's doing. You are playing coy for no reason other than to signal that on some level you agree
— john miller (@john69542) September 14, 2026
Maybe your dumbest tweet yet. Impressive.
— Rob Schmitt (@SchmittNYC) September 13, 2026
All of those statements are accurate. Or do you dispute why terrorists hate the USA? Does it matter? Are you trying to defend them simply because they claim to follow Islam? An interesting allegiance you have if you cannot simply swallow that terrorists hate America.
— Sequestered (@VanoSequestered) September 13, 2026
Yet another ignorant, vile and disgusting post from you. Why are you even in this country that you appear to hate so much?
— Kevin Williams (@wxbywilliams) September 13, 2026
If Hasan thinks Kavanaugh is demonstrating "child-like ignorance and inanity," then the terrorists must have had some other reason than hating our values. Hasan knows the minds of terrorists pretty well … why doesn't he explain?
