The New York Post reports:
The Trump administration is cutting illegal immigrants off from getting kickbacks from four major refundable tax credit programs – in a move that could save taxpayers an estimated $3 billion.
The Treasury Department and IRS unveiled new rules on Wednesday to tighten the requirements for the adoption, child, American opportunity, and earned income tax credits so that only US citizens, US nationals, and qualified aliens can get them.
“Under President Trump, the days of illegal aliens collecting taxpayer-funded benefits are over. The federal law is clear, and Treasury is enforcing it,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement.
The Post notes that those four tax credits are refundable, meaning people with a larger credit than the taxes they owe get a refund from the government.

I worked in the mortgage loan industry for years in CA and the amount of illegals using only an ITIN to obtain a loan was high. They would file taxes with an ITIN number and I would see all the tax credits on their tax returns.

We've been assured repeatedly by Extreme Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats that illegal aliens can't get government benefits. Yet, every day we find a new government benefit being handed out to illegal aliens.
We're waiting for that immigration douche from the Cato Institute to pop on and tell us how many billions of dollars illegal aliens are paying into the system and that it's actually a good thing.
