Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers posted a 17-second video of himself riding in a vintage pickup truck during the Woodward Dream Cruise, a celebration of automotive culture, and according to Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed's campaign staffer Mason Pressler, Rogers' campaign has the aesthetics of "a 1960s white flight suburb and a KKK cross burning." Pressler notes that he was formerly the youngest elected official in Michigan and is a 20-year-old school board member, so his memories of the 1960s are still burned into his brain.

We understand pickup trucks and country music are triggering to Democrats. It turns out vintage pickup trucks are even worse. It makes you wonder why White Dudes for Harris tried to cram as many as they could into their campaign spot, or why Vogue did a photo shoot of candidate Beto O'Rourke leaning against a vintage pickup.
