I'm sorry to publicize Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson's book anymore, but the two keep doing interviews to promote "Original Sin," and the more they talk, the more they sound like frauds. Because they are frauds. They were 100 percent in on the cover-up of President Joe Biden's mental deterioration and waited until after the election to publish a book about how they were duped by the White House into believing Biden was "sharp as a tack" behind closed doors.
There's no podcast the two won't do, and Thompson decided to appear on Elex Michaelson's "The Issue Is" podcast and talk about the origin of the book. It turns out that Tapper approached Thompson the day before the election, fearing that Kamala Harris might not win. If she didn't, because Biden hung on too long before turning over the ball, Tapper thought he could write a book about how the Democrats allowed Donald Trump back into the White House.
What's the origin of @OriginalSinBook?@AlexThomp says @jaketapper approached him the day before Election Day.

"He said I think she might lose and I've been having this idea for a book about how the Democratic party let Trump return, would you be interested?"

The post continues:
… deadline of the first draft being due January 31.
Thompson and Tapper divided a list of several hundred potential sources & divided it up. Then, they started making calls.
You mean the calls they should have been making when they were reporting for CNN and Axios.
So you weren't going to publish any of this if Kamala won?
— Usually Right (@normouspenis) May 31, 2025
That isn't how journalism is supposed to work.
Interesting that this insinuates the book doesn't get published if Kamala Harris wins. https://t.co/VOt9PKxG3x

If Tapper and Thompson had succeeded in pulling Harris across the finish line, would there have been a book? No, they would have sat on the cover-up forever, having accomplished what they set out to do.
Interesting yet not at all surprising. We all know the cover up would still be cruising right along if Kamala had won.
— Kristen Mag (@kristenmag) May 31, 2025
Yep. And in his interview with Weiss yesterday, he admitted in the debate, he teed up a question for Biden about abortion, and Biden didn’t take advantage of it.
— Jim Muessig (@JimMuessig) May 31, 2025
I love how Tapper helped to sell every lie in 2020, carried water for the party collapse, then pre wrote the postmortem like he wasn’t holding the shovel.
— The Undercurrent (@NotTheirScript) May 31, 2025
Tapper would have been perfectly fine never revealing this had Kamala somehow beat Trump
— MAGA GAY (@MAGA_GAY62) May 31, 2025
He’s a fraud
I'm going to call this more than an insinuation.
— Bob Hertel (@SpartyBob) May 31, 2025
Interesting that they could have spoke to these hundreds of sources at the time the cover up was happening
— Publius (@PubliusCoScAf) May 31, 2025
So the sin was letting Trump return. If Kamala wins, no Trump, no sin.
— PJwasbest (@jwasbest) May 31, 2025
"I've been having this idea for a book about how the Democratic party let Trump return," admits Tapper. So the Democratic Party "let" Trump win … he didn't win on his own by running on the issues that Americans actually cared about.
If Tapper and Thompson had done this work before the election we’d call that “journalism”
— IT Guy (@ITGuy1959) May 31, 2025
But they didn’t. And they didn’t cover their own industry’s complicity
Therefore, we call it “grifting.”
“Hey, you know all that stuff we pretended not to know about Biden? Wanna get some anonymous sources to back us up so we can cash in?”

These assholes can't go away soon enough.
— JWF (@JammieWF) May 31, 2025
Agreed.
It also insinuates that they were pretty sure Harris was going to win, or at least they were hoping she would.
