Mollie Hemingway Tells the Media to Stop Using the Term 'Gender-Affirming Care'

I've written a lot about supposed trans kids, and I usually use the term "gender-affirming care" in quotations like I did just there. It's like calling abortion "women's health care." It's not health care. A fetus is not a cancerous tumor. How is removing perfectly healthy breast tissue health care?

But I'm not sure what to use in place of gender-affirming care. There's so much ground to cover: puberty blockers, hormones, mastectomies, sex-change operations. Even calling it genital mutilation or sterilization doesn't cover the whole of it.

Axios reported Wednesday that it looked like the Supreme Court was going to uphold Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for minors.

That's good news, but Mollie Hemingway wants media outlets to stop using the term gender-affirming care.

I don't want Twitchy to be shunned … I just don't know what term to use to cover all of the horrific things that are done in the name of "health care."

Speaking of, Christopher Rufo even puts "trans kids" in quotation marks. He's got a point.

He nails it with fake medical necessity. They already tried, and failed, to argue that children who don't get this "medical care" are more likely to commit suicide, which they use as an ultimatum: block my puberty or I'll kill myself.

"Gender-affirming care" looks like it's going to stick. I wish I could think of a better term to cover all of the horrific things they do to minors who think (or are convinced) they were born into the wrong body.
