For the most part, I've been more than happy with President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet picks. I did a post last week, though, on some red flags raised over Trump's nominee for Labor Secretary, Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer of Oregon. Chavez-DeRemer was a co-sponsor of the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, or PRO Act, proposed federal legislation that would, in part, kill state-level Right to Work Laws and allow unions to collect dues from all employees in a workplace, even those who are not members of the union. As Carol Roth added, it would kill freelancers and gig workers and small businesses.
The PRO Act is anti-gig and independent contractor work legislation, impacting 70 + million gig workers and 33+ million small businesses. So much for being for the “little guy” -she’s for big special interests (shocker). https://t.co/q2eQT4oTWh

Now there are more red flags being raised over Trump's nominee for the DEA, Chad Chronister. I'll let conservative consultant and fundraiser Spence Rogers explain:
I am from Tampa Bay, Florida. I have followed Chad Chronister's career and people are asking me why he is a bad pick to be head of DEA. Conservatives here do not support Chronister. Chronister is a woke and weak Democrat plant and will backstab President Trump. He cannot be… pic.twitter.com/AfGxiFXvIc

… He cannot be trusted! Here are some of the reasons:
His office promotes transgendering teens by participating in the Tampa Pride event and created a liaison office for transgenders and other pride affiliates.

Chronister expanded his office's DEI programs and has been a major proponent of anti-white male discrimination by removing merit as a primary role of advancement, turning to race and gender-based hiring and promotion policies.

In March of 2020, he arrested a local pastor who kept his church open during Covid. The pastor spent $100k to upgrade his church's air and filtration system, making his church safe for those who wish to attend services. Nonetheless, Chronister arrested him and held a press conference touting the arrest.

He is a big Democrat donor. He gave money to Democrats Barack Obama, Mayor Jane Castor, Congresswoman Kathy Castor, Congressman Charlie Crist and the DNC.

Chronister is weak on crime. He released a criminal with 35 priors who then went out shortly after his release and murdered someone.

He was weak during the BLM riots, having his deputies stand down as rioters destroyed property, including a gate at the county jail. His office was generally slow to respond during the BLM riots, when other sheriff's offices around the state were out in full force.

He supports Red Flag Gun Confiscation and has used the policy many times.

He also does not support enforcing immigration laws:https://t.co/OoQAvDJ6ZP

WFLA reported in the summer of 2023:
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister responded to Florida’s new immigration law on Tuesday.
Senate Bill 1718 goes into effect on July 1st and includes consequences for those who transport an undocumented migrant and penalties for employers who hire them.
On social media, the sheriff assured residents the agency’s focus is on public safety, not federal immigration enforcement.
“We do not target individuals based on their immigration status – that’s the authority of federal agencies. Our goal is to build trust and foster strong partnerships with all residents regardless of background,” Chronister said.
It’s a message that brought some relief to people concerned with the new immigration law.
“Having the Sheriff coming out and explaining that he’s not going to enforce this law is something positive for the community,” said Ana Lamb, a Hispanic Community activist.
Is this guy seriously Trump's DEA pick? Why?
JUST SAY NO? Several conservatives expressed concerns Sunday over President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement of Republican Florida sheriff Chad Chronister to be administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). 🧵 pic.twitter.com/DGKoI0I5ET

Yep. He was a Covidian who enforced a curfew against all citizens, arrested a pastor for holding church services, but allowed riots and then refused to impose a curfew. He created DEI programs.

This is the worst pick from Trump, and it's not even close. https://t.co/4Y6tmUqfHg
Chad Chronister is a woke, BLM-excusing, DEI-enforcing, immigration law-ignoring buffoon. There are thousands of solid sheriffs in this country who are far more qualified to run DEA than this left-wing clown. https://t.co/N6utI5GCDj

I don't understand this at all. I consider Trump's biggest weakness in his first term surrounding himself with bad people. There must be some way of preventing him from doing it again.
