Savage: Vivek Ramaswamy Reacts to Donald Trump's 'Vermin' Remark on CNN

AP Photo/Rebecca Blackwell

As I reported while covering the most recent Republican debate, things were pretty boring, with the exception of Vivek Ramaswamy lighting up the two moderators from NBC News, which covered the Russian collusion hoax for years. Ramaswamy said that Joe Rogan and Elon Musk should have been hosting the debate as it would have had a lot more viewers.

I also reported recently that the media got the vapors from Donald Trump calling his political opponents "vermin" at a New Hampshire rally. "We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country," he told the crowd.

If you search Google, you'll find the headlines covering that one word. NPR: "Why Trump's authoritarian language about 'vermin' matters." The Washington Post: "Trump calls political enemies ‘vermin,’ echoing dictators Hitler, Mussolini." Reuters: "Biden says Trump echoed Nazis with use of word 'vermin'." Axios: "Trump's 'vermin' speech again draws scrutiny to extreme rhetoric." The New Republic: "It’s Official: With 'Vermin,' Trump Is Now Using Straight-up Nazi Talk."

I've said before I'm rooting for Ron DeSantis, but he's not looking likely, and the "vermin" comment, along with the reports that Trump's would be a "revenge presidency," only make me want to vote for him more.

Nikki Haley distanced herself from the remark, but Vivek Ramaswamy took to CNN and gave his reaction, along with a few other opinions.

That was not the response she was looking for. I seriously doubt we'll be looking at a President Ramaswamy, but he reminds of us journalists like Jim Acosta writing what a "dangerous" time it was to be a journalist during the Trump administration. Bring back mean tweets.
